June 23, 2008
2 hours tonight.
I had, I thought, all my keys done (you can still see my two side characters pop'n to theirs). So I changed my main to smooth animation curves and began adding frames to make the motion correct (obviously not there yet).
1 probelm I ran into is that the last couple of frames are too dull
I think what it needs is the characters "UP" movement from his step to happen on the word "Hard". Currently the Up movement has not been placed. Other then that it's just a whole bunch of work. I know what I need to do.

Re Framing Monday May 12
Well I worked a little on the weekend with this and a buddy of mine came over and suggested a couple of things. The BiggEST suggestion was to reframe my shot. He actually has a much better eye for interesting Camera angles then me (this being the 3rd project he's done this to me... I may have him start reading my story boards). With the different Camera angle I have more face time on my speaking character and he doesn't have to do his really quick spin (which had been giving me trouble)
C&C is always welcome
Monday May 5 2008
Tonight it looks like I did nothing.
Basically I tried several times to animate the main character and no matter how I timed out his movements It was impossible to get him to look right.
I just now, right now, realized that perhaps it's a problem with my whole shot plan and not just my action (which I really wanted to keep).
I think I've set it up to be an easy fix tomorrow. I'm going to make "mr fox" enter from the Right instead of the left. This way it covers the actions my other characters are doing (which helps keep them in the background) and it also allows me to keep all my main actions without having to worry about completing a 'casual 360' in 13 seconds. Now it's only going to be a 180 which I think will work perfectly.

I've blocked in the other two characters now and my next step (Monday night) will be to animate the main character properly.

NEW OLD
Biggest complaints were...
Lip synch seemed off at the end --> Fixed
Hand closes too slowly --> Fixed
Shoulders are too static --> I tried a lot of things, but it always felt like I was moving them too much.. I went back to almost static (but it is moving more now).
C&C welcome, but i will not be applying it to this animation any comments will be considered in my future work.

3rd night 04/09/08
Tonight what you'll notice is that in the hour and a half I worked I only managed to smooth and manage some of the smallest things. I basically worked on planting and moving the feet, which for something out of the shot actually took a bit of time. I also started thinking a little more about the hips.
2nd night.. wasted? 04/07/08
I'm erasing what I've done so far and starting again. I'm still going to shoot for the same blocking, but the way I added onto my animation did not give me the results I want. I'm going to go straight Key Poses and then tweak my inbetweens.
First Signs of life
... I'm having trouble getting my Playbalsts to retain the sound information...
I may update this post later today with another clip.
UPDATE:
Final Night 03/26/08
There are a few things, like body movement, that I really wanted to put in, but I realize now it's not worth the extra night of work for the subtle difference it will make.
C&C welcome
day three 03/25/08
I worked for about an hour and a half tonight to add finger animation. please excuse the arm at the end. I'm pretty happy with it, but it's the only thing moving.
2nd Night 03/19/08
Hey, I was actually getting some good work done tonight, but I have to get up early tomorrow for Yoga, so I'm heading to bed early.
This has the rest of the arms roughed in, but there is still a problem with the middle of the animation. I don't have the arms transitioning properly between the two major movements.
I started to play around with this rigs mouth poses, but I'll have to redo all of the mouth, but it was fun to play with.
I forgot to Mention that I did not build this rig, I got it off the internet, it was built by PJ Hogan.
It Begins...03/18/08
Last night I started working on an animation to a clip of Dialog from the Princess Bride. I thought that in one evening I would get a lot farther then i did. I thought I was faster. Anyways, this was as far as Idid get. (it's a quick playblast).
