Re Framing Monday May 12

Well I worked a little on the weekend with this and a buddy of mine came over and suggested a couple of things. The BiggEST suggestion was to reframe my shot. He actually has a much better eye for interesting Camera angles then me (this being the 3rd project he's done this to me... I may have him start reading my story boards). With the different Camera angle I have more face time on my speaking character and he doesn't have to do his really quick spin (which had been giving me trouble)

C&C is always welcome

Monday May 5 2008

Tonight it looks like I did nothing.
Basically I tried several times to animate the main character and no matter how I timed out his movements It was impossible to get him to look right.

I just now, right now, realized that perhaps it's a problem with my whole shot plan and not just my action (which I really wanted to keep).
I think I've set it up to be an easy fix tomorrow. I'm going to make "mr fox" enter from the Right instead of the left. This way it covers the actions my other characters are doing (which helps keep them in the background) and it also allows me to keep all my main actions without having to worry about completing a 'casual 360' in 13 seconds. Now it's only going to be a 180 which I think will work perfectly.

Audio 02 Sun, May 4

I took a break from my weekly animation because I was learning a new software (motion builder) I'll be running through a few more tutorials this week but I wanted to start on this Batman clip again.

I've blocked in the other two characters now and my next step (Monday night) will be to animate the main character properly.

Audio_01 again

Hey everyone, this probably seems like a waste of time, But I redid the Audio just based on some feedback.

NEW OLD

Biggest complaints were...

Lip synch seemed off at the end --> Fixed
Hand closes too slowly --> Fixed
Shoulders are too static --> I tried a lot of things, but it always felt like I was moving them too much.. I went back to almost static (but it is moving more now).
C&C welcome, but i will not be applying it to this animation any comments will be considered in my future work.

3rd night 04/09/08

Well, I did erase everything and start again. However, before I got too far I started watching the clip I posted last time and I started to think about how I could fix it and I started to work on it. Suffice to say I stuck with it.

Tonight what you'll notice is that in the hour and a half I worked I only managed to smooth and manage some of the smallest things. I basically worked on planting and moving the feet, which for something out of the shot actually took a bit of time. I also started thinking a little more about the hips.

2nd night.. wasted? 04/07/08

Well, this was my progress tonight, but I don't like any of it. The trouble is the amount of movement I want out of my character It's too much for an old man and he's really zipping all over the place. I may have to rethink his action.

I'm erasing what I've done so far and starting again. I'm still going to shoot for the same blocking, but the way I added onto my animation did not give me the results I want. I'm going to go straight Key Poses and then tweak my inbetweens.
